1997-Present: Into the Twenty-first Century

Emerging into the contemporary era, the Exhibition grounds exist now as an assortment of architectural styles and city-building eras or paradigms, manifesting itself in the environment as a collection of disconnected landscapes and structures. While many disparate remnants of eras are scattered throughout the grounds, it is evident that no one singular vision has laid claim to control the site’s current vision or direction, exemplified by the disconnection between landscapes and buildings and lack of a cohesive urban form.
